Who remembers this Ikea Hack from a bit ago?
If not, go check out my studded Ikea Hack here!
I’m still loving it and I wanted to tie it in with a little something extra in our room. You have to be careful when accessorizing, though. A room full of studded items might look a little much (I personally don’t like things too matchy, matchy). However; a touch here and there could be the perfect balance to tie it all together.
German homes tend to have 3 rooms in one (ha)! But seriously. My main floor is on the small side and is comprised of my living room, dining area, and kitchen – all one room. I decided on the perfect idea and just the right spot for it!
Ikea picture frames! Except not.
I started with 2 very basic picture frames. I believe they were around $5-$7 each. I removed the glass. Following the same technique in my tutorial link above, I evenly measured out where I wanted the nail heads to go and marked it with chalk. I hammered those bad boys in and that was it! I inserted pictures, and I was DONE! Well…
I didn’t really LOVE them as frames for the chosen location. I measured the internal opening and off to the hardware store I went. I found some super cheap mirror sheets that I had cut to size – 2 pieces. You may even get lucky and find pre-cut pieces already in the size you need. Either way, it was ridiculously cheap. Back home I went and plopped those mirrors in place, and hung them back up.
Now I’m done! (There may or may not have been a season change in between picture taking). HA!
Love it! Super easy and inexpensive!
Here they are with a little something extra during the Christmas season.
